SOJ worked with Multnomah County, the Portland Housing Bureau, Transition Projects Inc., and the A Home for Everyone collaborative to complete the adaptive reuse of a warehouse into a shelter serving 120 women and couples. The renovation included adding showers and bathrooms, a new kitchen, ADA access, and mechanical, electrical, and security upgrades — all of which were completed on a very tight timeframe to ensure the shelter would open before the arrival of winter.
