Street Roots is a non-profit organization that publishes a weekly newspaper focusing on social and environmental justice issues. The newspaper creates an opportunity for people experiencing homelessness and poverty to earn an income by selling the newspaper.
Street Roots has purchased a building in Old Town that will undergo extensive renovations, enabling them to expand its operations and help build community. Improvements include a seismic upgrade, high efficiency heating and cooling system, solar panels, an elevator, and space for new health and wellness facilities for their newspaper vendors. SOJ is providing owner representative services to assist Street Roots with project financing, fundraising, design, and construction.
